Certifications:
National Academy of Sports Medicine: Certified Personal Trainer
Background:
Leaving a career of nearly 16 years that spanned many positions across hospitality management and intersecting with the bourbon industry, Sam pivoted to a career in fitness seeking to help those who struggle with the many obstacles life throws at us use movement as an anchor to their own personal power. When she’s not in the gym, Sam likes to stay active by running outdoors, playing sand volleyball, and taking long walks with her beloved dogs.
Training Philosophy:
“No one should suffer or feel miserable to get in shape. Yes, we may make some compromises. Yes, we will work hard. But you shouldn’t have to give up something you love entirely to reach your goals (Unless you’re eating 2 sticks a butter solo for breakfast every day. Then, we might have to cut that one out entirely, but let’s keep butter around moderately! What is a life without bread and butter, am I right?). And no one should have to do exercises that don’t make them happy or feel empowered. I want to help you build healthy, sustainable habits while allowing you to continue enjoying what you love. I ask my clients to be curious and open-minded. Be curious about new exercises or foods you’ve never tried. Be open-minded about what you think you’ll like and what you think you’re capable of! I think variety is truly the spice of life. Implementing a variety of healthy foods and recipes in your repertoire as well as using a variety of movements and exercises in the gym is going to keep you curious, keep you engaged, and keep you feeling GOOD. I want to help you get serious about your health and I want you to have lots of fun (and sometimes butter) along the way.”
